Serving Our Community: Virginia Beach Food Pantry
For many people in the Special Operations Forces (SOF) community, service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off; it lives on in small, caring acts that make a difference.
Our March Food Pantry event provided SOF spouses the opportunity to serve community members of the local Virginia Beach area. These spouses supported the Food Pantry for the third time by organizing and stocking essential groceries for every person who came through the doors.
The Food Pantry is part of the work supported by the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center (JCOC), which has quietly helped people facing hunger and homelessness since 1986.

Building Trust By Showing Up

The work was deeply personal for these spouses. They understand how unpredictable life can be and how quickly people can face unexpected challenges. Financial strain and other sudden changes can place pressure on even the most resilient people. For many in the community, food pantries can be a meaningful source of support, helping ease the stress of putting food on the table.
“Hard times do not define a family; how we support each other does. I volunteer because I believe in community, resilience, and compassion. Strength is not just about enduring challenges; it is also about stepping up to help others through theirs. The food pantry is one way I can support families in need.”

Connection Built Through Service

At The Station Foundation, service is at the heart of who we are. Our SOF members and their families live this every day, giving to others without expecting thanks, and that same commitment shapes how we support our communities. Our initiatives are not about recognition. They are about showing up, helping others where it is needed, and quietly making a difference in the lives of the people around us.

Join our Monthly Giving community and make a lasting impact all year long. Your ongoing support ensures our programs remain accessible to Special Operations service members and their families when they need it most. Thank you for your continued support in making our mission possible.
