Special Operations Service Members participate in a unique program set in a remote location in Southwest Montana. The experience, staffed by Special Operations veterans, business leaders, and transition specialists, guides participants through a life of service, the difficult decisions surrounding transition, and the challenging landscape of returning Home.
Through a mix of outdoor experiences, conversations, and guided processes, participants discover pathways towards healthy transition, purpose beyond uniform, and meaningful impact in their families, communities, and personal lives.
Service Members travel to Montana and connect with public/private sector leaders who are committed to serving as guides during the transition process, supporting discussions on strategies to achieving goals and milestones critical for realizing success.
TrAC allows participants to engage in guided conversations on service, values, and identity. While mentors gain a deeper understanding of their role in the service member’s military transition, Veterans share and demonstrate their intangible skills and experiences that make them valuable beyond combat. Mentors depart on the fifth day of the program. At this time, Veterans time to experience solitude exploring nature and disconnecting from distractions to reflect on personal goals and priorities.
Service members dive deeper into their own service and transition, spending extended time in the backcountry of Montana, exploring critical components often overlooked and undervalued in the homecoming process. Participants are encouraged to push beyond the surface, reflect deeply on the values and ethos of Warriorhood, and participate in timeless rites of passage absent in the modern military.

Service Members
Must be a committed, motivated, hard working individual who served honorably in the Special Operations Community or Other Government Agencies in direct support or partnership with SOCOM. Applicants must be able to fully participate without external requirements.
This process focuses on aspects of transition beyond the technical, for Warriors who possess the desire and discipline to come home from War and actualize their very best.
Expect to be challenged in every domain, demanding you show up open and ready to grow.
Mentors
Must be leaders of character who embody the virtues of service, honor, and integrity. Mentors are expected to be thoughtful, engaging and willing to share insights on life lessons, key decision points and serendipitous moments along the way.
Mentors are hand-selected through an interview process to best match selected Veterans with the appropriate support. Anyone selected for the mentorship role must be available for the duration of the mentorship phase.
Coming home is a slow, deliberate process. It is our hope that you remain engaged with our participants well after their Montana experience.
